God Is Not Finished With You

“Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion…” — Philippians 1:6

Woman of God, hear me clearly:

God is not finished with you.

I do not care how long the journey has been.

I do not care how many times you had to start over.

I do not care what you lost, what did not work, who walked away, what you thought would happen by now, or how different your life looks from the picture you once had in your head.

If God allowed you to open your eyes today, your story is still being written.

Another day on this earth is not just another date on the calendar.

It is evidence.

Evidence that there is still breath in your body.

Evidence that there is still purpose attached to your name.

Evidence that there are still prayers inside of you that need to be prayed, people you are assigned to impact, lessons you are still meant to learn, rooms you have not entered yet, and parts of yourself you have not even met yet.

You are still here because God is still working.

Maybe You Thought You Would Be Further By Now

Can we talk woman to woman?

Sometimes the hardest part about getting older is looking at life and quietly thinking:

God, I thought I would be further by now.

Maybe you thought you would already be married.

Maybe you thought the marriage would have lasted.

Maybe you thought the children would be doing differently.

Maybe you thought you would have the house, the career, the business, the degree, the financial stability, the healing, or the peace by now.

Maybe you have spent so much time surviving that somewhere along the way, you stopped expecting.

You kept functioning.

You kept going to work.

You kept taking care of everybody.

You kept smiling.

You kept praying for everyone else.

But somewhere inside, your hope got tired.

And today I want to speak directly to that place.

Wake your expectation back up.

God is not limited by your timeline.

He is not intimidated by your age.

He is not confused by your detours.

He is not standing in heaven saying, “Well, she messed that up, so I guess the story is over.”

No.

He is still God.

And you are still His workmanship.

Your Mistakes Did Not Cancel Your Purpose

Some of us have spent years punishing ourselves for decisions God already knew we would make.

You made the wrong choice.

You stayed too long.

You left too soon.

You trusted somebody you should not have trusted.

You wasted money.

You ignored the warning.

You went back after God helped you come out.

You knew better and still did not do better.

And now you are wondering whether you disqualified yourself.

Woman, listen to me:

A mistake can teach you without defining you.

God can redeem time.

God can restore confidence.

God can heal what broke.

God can give wisdom where there was once immaturity.

God can take the very thing that made you ashamed and turn it into the wisdom that helps another woman survive.

Your past may explain parts of your story, but it does not get to write the ending.

God does.

There Is Still Oil On Your Life

There is still something in you.

There is still wisdom in you.

There is still creativity in you.

There is still a prayer in you.

There is still a testimony in you.

There is still a dream in you.

There is still a woman in you who has not completely emerged yet.

You may have been through grief.

You may have experienced disappointment.

You may have survived betrayal.

You may have had your heart broken.

You may have buried dreams.

You may have had seasons when you could barely recognize yourself.

But surviving the season did not remove the purpose.

There is still oil on your life.

And sometimes what you call “starting over,” God calls building again with wisdom.

This time you know yourself better.

This time you recognize the warning signs.

This time your prayer life is different.

This time your boundaries are stronger.

This time you understand that everybody cannot come with you.

This time you understand that being chosen by God does not require being accepted by everybody.

You are not beginning from nothing.

You are beginning from experience.

Purpose Does Not Have A Retirement Age

Whether you are 21, 41, 61, or 81, God can still use you.

There is no expiration date stamped on purpose.

Some women will birth dreams when they are young.

Others will discover themselves after raising children.

Some will find their voice after divorce.

Some will begin again after retirement.

Some will discover their greatest assignment after surviving the season they thought would destroy them.

Do not allow society to convince you that your best years are behind you simply because you have lived some years.

You are not too old.

You are not too late.

You are not too far behind.

You are not too damaged.

You are not too complicated.

And you are certainly not forgotten.

If God still has you here, there is still something He can do through you.

Do Not Give Up On Life

And I need to speak gently but seriously to the woman who is tired.

The woman who is thinking, I don’t know how much more I can take.

The woman who has been strong for so long that she does not even know how to explain how exhausted she is.

Please hear me.

Do not give up on your life because of one chapter.

Do not make a permanent decision based on temporary pain.

This season is speaking loudly, but it does not know the rest of your story.

There are still moments ahead that you have not experienced.

There is laughter you have not laughed yet.

There are people you have not met yet.

There are answered prayers you have not witnessed yet.

There are places you have not traveled.

There are accomplishments you have not celebrated.

There are mornings coming when you will wake up and realize:

I am so grateful I stayed.

Your existence matters.

Your presence matters.

Your life matters.

And while I cannot promise that every day will be easy, I can remind you that today’s pain does not have authority over tomorrow’s possibilities.

Get help when you need help.

Call somebody.

Pray.

Cry.

Rest.

Talk.

Reach out.

But please do not confuse exhaustion with the end of your story.

God is not finished with you.

Stop Calling Yourself Finished When God Said He Is Still Working

Some of us have pronounced endings over things God has not finished developing.

“I’ll never love again.”

“I’ll never recover financially.”

“I’ll never be successful.”

“I missed my opportunity.”

“My time has passed.”

“I’ll always be like this.”

Who told you that?

Because Philippians 1:6 reminds us that the God who began the work is also committed to completing the work.

That means there may be some construction happening.

There may be some pruning.

There may be some uncomfortable stretching.

There may be seasons when God changes your circle, your plans, your desires, and even the version of yourself you thought you were supposed to become.

But unfinished does not mean abandoned.

Construction is proof that something is being built.

I Need You To Believe Again

Believe that there is still more.

Believe you can heal.

Believe you can learn.

Believe you can rebuild.

Believe you can finish the degree.

Believe you can start the business.

Believe you can become financially wiser.

Believe you can become healthier emotionally.

Believe you can establish boundaries.

Believe you can love yourself without becoming selfish.

Believe you can serve God without losing yourself.

Believe you can become the woman God knew before life taught you to shrink.

And when fear starts talking, answer it.

I am still here.

When disappointment starts talking:

I am still here.

When your age starts talking:

I am still here.

When your past starts talking:

I am still here.

When people remind you of who you used to be:

I am still here—and God is still working on me.

A Prayer For The Woman Who Is Still Becoming

Father, in the name of Jesus,

I pray for every woman reading these words.

Lord, meet her exactly where she is.

Meet the tired woman.

Meet the disappointed woman.

Meet the woman rebuilding.

Meet the woman grieving.

Meet the woman who has stopped dreaming.

Meet the woman who feels behind.

Meet the woman who has spent so much time caring for everybody else that she has forgotten that You still have plans for her too.

God, restore her expectation.

Restore her courage.

Restore her faith.

Restore her vision.

Remind her that age cannot cancel purpose, mistakes cannot overpower grace, disappointment cannot stop destiny, and her past does not have the final word.

Father, breathe on every dream that still belongs to her.

Give her wisdom for what needs to change.

Give her courage to release what needs to go.

Give her discipline for the next step.

Give her peace while she waits.

And give her enough faith to believe that You are still writing.

Lord, finish what You started in her.

Let her life testify that You restore, rebuild, redeem, and make all things new.

And when she becomes weary, whisper to her spirit:

Daughter, I am not finished with you yet.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

Before You Leave…

Woman, I want you to remember one thing today:

Your breath is evidence.

You woke up.

You are still here.

And as long as God keeps giving you another day, you still have permission to grow, change, heal, rebuild, dream, try again, and become.

You do not have to have everything figured out today.

Just do not quit.

Take the next step.

Say the next prayer.

Make the next wise decision.

Try again.

Rest if you need to—but get back up.

Because there is still purpose in you.

There is still oil in you.

There is still life ahead of you.

And the same God who kept you through everything behind you is already present in everything ahead of you.

God is not finished with you.

And woman…

neither should you be.
